This piece was the beginning of Linda Schmidts People in Places class. In this piece we learned how to enlarge our photo, make working drawings and templates, some fabric painting, foundation piecing, curved piecing, burnt edge applique, fusing, invisible machine applique, thread painting. This piece and the one posted below it was getting us ready to make our own masterpiece.

That's great. Is all the sparkle in the trees done with thread, or is that the fabric itself? Very beautiful. Love your ballerina, too.

Thanks Deborah,
Yea the tree is completely thread painted. I used the water soluble stablizer and drew the pattern on it and away I went. It was so much fun. The ballerina was fun to make too. The background for it was some material I bought, then after I bought it wondered what I would do with it. It worked great for this piece.
