Build A Seam Week 6

I have gotten behind on my build a seams. Here is week 6. I forgot to take a pic of the original seam, but you can see Kerry's sample here
I then added a cross stitch with straight stitch in the center of these stitches. I used the different colored threads to help give contrast to the stitches.

Build A Seam Week 5

This weeks stitch consisted of offset circles. I done the checkered chain stitch. What this consist of is using two different colors. You rotate each color under your needle to make the chain. Then I added the rest of the stitches and beads. I really didn't know where I was going to go with this but I am happy with my results.

Build A Seam Week 4

This weeks seam was the Chevron. Using the templates from Carole Samples and choosing one of the stitches she has in her book I come up with this Chevron stitch.
Than I added my little embellishers and button butterflys.

Build A Seam Week 2

This weeks stitch was the cretan stitch.

So I decided to add straight stitches to the tops of the cretan and make fans out of them. Turned out to be pretty. Probably should add more but I was really pleased with this.

Build A Seam Week 1

In our CQINovice group we are doing a weekly challenge called Build A Seam. Kerry started us off doing circles in a chain stitch, then we take and build on this seam. First I done the circles in chain stitch.

Then I added straight stitch to give it a thorny look.

Then I added bullion for the roses, fly stitch , and feather stitch. I will probably add beads or maybe some bullions on the feather stitching but I have the seam above it to do before I add those on. Looking forward to next weeks stitches.
