Coloring & Embroidery Block

I used Crayola Crayons to color this block and then heat set with an iron, then embellish with embroidery stitches. The pink and blue of the dress is done with a chain stitch. The butterfly is done with a stem stitch and her bonnet is done in a reverse blanket stitch. I still have some more embroidery to do to have her finished. Also some beads to be added to her bonnet. I think when I get her finished I am going to put her into a crazy quilt block.

WOW your block is outstanding. Love the colors and design. I love to color blocks with Crayola crayons. I have some that are 10 years old and are still bright. I have not washed them only vacuumed them to get the dust off.

Thank you Debbi,
I can't wait to get her finished. It has been so much fun. I also have a series of Grandma's potted treasures, each block contains a different flower pot with different flower arrangements. Will post those as I get them done.

This looks lovely!!
I never did that, color a picture with a pencil for a quiltblock.
Will that stay when you wash the quilt?

Thank you Ati,
I am really not for sure how it will work if washed. Debbi says she done some 10 years ago and they are still very bright. She vacuums hers to get the dust off. I have heard when I took this class it would last through washing but I am not for sure.

This is just too cute. What a wonderful job you've done. BTW, what size is it? I would thing smallish, to be put into a block.

Thanks Gerry,
No she is pretty big, if I do put her in a cq block it would be for a wallhanging. lol She would probably cut down to 9 inches. So, I am not for sure what I will do yet. But she sure would sparkle in a Crazy Quilt.
