America The Beautiful

This quilt is from Debbie Mumm's America the Beautiful book.
She published this book after 9/11. My 22 yr. old son is in the National Guard and he served in Iraq for a year. I bought this book and the material for it while he was in Iraq. He has been home now for a little over a year. Just got it finished this year though. There were so many small pieces that when I was cutting my fabric, I had to put them in baggies and label them so it wouldn't be so confusing. I am so glad to have him back home , and my prayers still go out to ones who are still over there, and to the ones whom have lost their loved ones.

Blue & White Sampler

This quilt was from a first Saturday BOM club. You paid 5.00 for the first block and then bring that block finished the next month and get the next block free. It happened to be in the colors blue and white, (which blue is my step-sons favorite color), so this quilt went to him and my DIL for a Christmas present. I have had this in the making for years too. The border was a design I drafted off a Simply Quilts program. It was nice seeing how my first drafted border turned out.

Persian Star

This quilt was made from the book WedgeWorks by Cheryl Phillips and Linda Pysto. We did this quilt in a class at the Quilting Bee in Mt.View ,Arkansas. Talk about almost throwing the towel in and forgetting about it..lol . Glad I didn't though. What kept me going was I planned on making this for a very good friend of mine. It is king sized quilt. She got it for a Christmas present.

Flannel Quilt

This flannel kit was purchased at a quiltshop in Mt.View Arkansas. It is no longer open now. As in the previous post I purchased this several years ago and just this year got it finished. This quilt went to my 22 yr.old step-son for Christmas. I have misplaced the pattern but I think it was from Bear Creek but not positive.

Americana

This quilt was made for my 25 yr.old son.
I bought it as a quilt kit in a shop in Wisconsin when I was traveling through. It is called Plum Creek Americana by Johanna Wilson.
I have had this kit for several years and finally got it finished and was given to him at Christmas.
