Judith Baker Montano

I had a really fun day today,,I spent the day with Judith Baker Montano.
Now don't get to upset,,I spent the day on my computer with her new DVD,,Judith Baker Montano Teaches You Crazy Quilting. It is a great dvd. I tried her way of piecing a block. I don't think I have it down completely but it's a start. I will get it all figured out. I ordered this dvd through Vintage Vogue..I am sure they are out at other places too.

Build A Seam Week 4

This weeks seam was the Chevron. Using the templates from Carole Samples and choosing one of the stitches she has in her book I come up with this Chevron stitch.
Than I added my little embellishers and button butterflys.

Nametag Finished

It took me a little bit to figure out how to complete my nametag. So I decided to couch some cording around the little block.

Then I done a satin stitch around the cording, using a verigated thread. Here is the completed nametag.

Nametag

I think I might be getting carried away with the bullion sitch. I was trying to decide what I was going to make my spider with, beads, etc,,and it hit me,,I'll make him out of the bullion. I done two bullion stitches for the rear, one sideways for the mid body, then a three wrap french knot for the head...He's a little cutie isn't he?? Don't forget you can click the pic to enlarge.

This is my nametag I am making for my retreat in November. Now I got to get it cut out and the back sewn on.

Build A Seam Week 2

This weeks stitch was the cretan stitch.

So I decided to add straight stitches to the tops of the cretan and make fans out of them. Turned out to be pretty. Probably should add more but I was really pleased with this.

FFT #4

I got my block ready to head out for my first RR in CQI. I have been in RR's before , this is just the first time with this group. I am looking forward to this RR. It's going to be fun. I have been working on a series of blocks on point so this one is on point to go with the others.

I have been wanting to do a underwater scene so I got this block ready to start embellishing. Lyn G was so nice to share with me some beads that she uses to make little squids. I fell in love with those little fellows so am looking forward to making a few on this block. Thanks again Lyn for sharing your beads and information on how to make the squids.

Cyclamen Cyclamen hederifolium

Flower #6 is the Cyclamen. Stiches used are lazy daisy stitch, stem stitch, and buttonhole stitch.
