Sumptious Surface with Sharon Boggin

I am taking Sharon Boggin's class on Sumptious Surfaces. It is going to be a great class. Sharon is teaching us design. Above is what I have come up with.

My concept is:
My response to the war in Iraq. Being there must consist of turmoil and lonliness. Coming home must bring peace and serenity.

Sharon, what do you think about it so far. Am I going in the right direction?

Kitty Kitty Round Robin

I finished Kate's House Cats block today. I added the pretty iron on kitty and done the herringbone stitch with two strands of DMC floss. Hope she likes it. I thought the kitty went great with her other kitties on her patch.

I finished Rebecca's block and got it mailed to the next person in line. I done the cross stitched butterfly so her kitties can chase after it. And done the cheveron stitch in #5 perle cotton. I didn't fill in the rest of the patch, leaving room for others to work on if they choose to.
